If your name is Curran, English, Fox, Fraley, Heather. Kelly, Kraft, McTeague, Meighan, Mellon. Montague, Semanek, or Wooster, we may be related! Some of these tree branches spread to New York, in places like Elmira, Ithaca and Chittenango as well as New York City; some went to Atlanta Georgia and some went to Miami Florida. No doubt many other places as well!

Section 1. Catherine in Ireland

Catherine (Kate) Montague was born Nov 23, 1857 in County Derry, Ireland in Draperstown. She was the oldest child of Hugh and Mary Mellon Montague. Hugh and Mary Mellon had six children before Mary Mellon’s untimely passing. Hugh married again to Peggy O’Connor and had seven more children. Some of this family is followed in the Scotland and Bradley sections. Catherine is shown here with her youngest child Gus circa 1925. And here is a graphic of Catherine’s family in Ireland:

Please note the SKM above James McTeague’s block above. Sarah Kelly and James McTeague are the second oldest ancestors we know of in Ireland. James did have a brother John. John McTeague was born in 1795 and married Bridget Mallon. John was 2 years older than James. Similarly, Hugh was the second child born to Sarah Kelly and James McTeague. Their first son, Patrick, was born in 1837 and he will be identified as SKM1 while High is identified as SKM2. You will see each succeeding generation carries this identification number in the top left corner. As a generation is added a number or letter is added to that generation. If you count from right to left you will know the number of generations back to SKM Sarah Kelly and James McTeague

After Mary Mellon’s untimely death, Hugh remarried to Margaret (Peggy) O’Connor.
